Traditional Okinawan Kobudō

At Blade Family Martial Arts Academy, our weapons curriculum is fully integrated

with traditional Shorei Goju Ryu discipline. We train dedicated practitioners

in the theory, form (kata), and precision application of the six traditional weapons:

* **Bō (Staff):** The foundational 6-foot staff emphasizing leverage, posture, and fluid blocking.

* **Sai (Trident):** Twin iron prongs utilized for rapid trapping, parrying, and close-quarter defense.

* **Tonfa (Batten):** Wooden handled guards focusing on structural forearm alignment and swift rotation.

* **Kama (Sickle):** Paired curved blades demanding advanced coordination, circular tracking, and focus.

* **Nunchaku (Flail):** Linked wooden blocks highlighting continuous momentum control and trajectory.

* **Eku (Okinawan Oar):** A traditional wooden oar utilizing heavy, sweeping displacements and specialized blade strikes.

Our Kobudō courses prepare students directly for advanced certification testing, theory validation,

and competitive performance tiers across regional tournament divisions.
